2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV – The Powertrain
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the EQE is likely to adopt the familiar Mercedes 90kWh battery in two different models. The lower-end model is likely going to offer around 290hp and 417l-ft of torque from its single electric motor driving the rear wheels. This should also be the model with the highest range which is likely going to be somewhere around 300 miles on a full charge.
We are also going to get a more powerful AMG EQE SUV model that is going to offer 470hp and is going to feature the Mercedes 4MATIC AWD system with two motors, one on the front axle and one on the back. We are not yet sure if the new EQE is going to feature the largest Mercedes 108kWh battery found in Mercedes EQS models.
We can confirm that the EQE is going to come with a 200kW fast-charging DC rate which should be able to recharge the EQE SUV in under 30 minutes. However, some sources state that the EQE SUV is also going to come in AMG 63 form and is going to offer around 617hp and 700lb-ft of torque which is exactly the same as the EQE 63 Sedan.
2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV – Design and Driving
The EQE SUV looks like a slightly smaller version of the top-end EQS SUV which means that it prioritizes aerodynamics over form and that is not going to award it with the “best-looking EV” award anytime soon. The full-length tail light is included and so is a blacked-out plastic front grille. The interior of the EQE SUV is as luxurious and as well-equipped as in the EQS, but slightly smaller.
We can see a new steering wheel and certain authentic design touches that are only available for the EQE. The Mercedes Hyperscreen is also available here and it looks as stunning as ever. The driving experience is likely going to be chilled down for the regular EQE SUV models while the AMG EQE SUV is going to be comparably more dynamic.
Don’t expect it to be as comfortable as the EQE sedan because the EQE SUV is not nearly as comfortable as the EQS Sedan. This is rather logical as these SUVs are high off the ground and aren’t able to be as comfortable due to physics.

The EQE SUV is still way too fresh for us to properly gauge if it is a reliable car or not. We will have to wait a while before we can assess its reliability properly. However, we can say that the EQE sedan is a decently reliable car as it is an EV which are inherently more reliable than ICE cars.
2023 Mercedes AMG EQE SUV – Value and Practicality
The Mercedes EQE SUV is expected to start at around $75,000 which is around $20,000 more than the smallest Mercedes EQB electric SUV and around $25,000 less than the top-end EQS SUV. This puts it in the same price group as the recent BMW iX, the Jaguar I-Pace, and the Audi e-Tron.
Practicality is as good as you’d expect from a mid-size SUV as the EQE SUV does not lack space in any way, shape, or form. If you are after a family EV SUV, this one is a great choice.
