Practicality is best with the sedan, then the coupe, and lastly with the convertible as it offers the least amount of space in the back and the smallest trunk space, especially with the roof down.
Which Mercedes E53 AMG should I buy?
Well, it depends on what you need. If you are a family man, go for the sedan version as it makes the most sense overall. If you want the most dynamic and exciting experience, I’d go for the coupe. Lastly, I’d skip buying the convertible altogether as it is not as good to drive as the other two. It lacks structural rigidity and is a lot heavier.
Moreover, it also costs $10,000 from the get-go which, in my opinion, simply isn’t worth it. The sedan is the best for most people while some might prefer the coupe due to its styling and driving experience.
Is the Mercedes AMG E53 a real AMG?
There is an ongoing discussion out there about whether AMG 53 models are true AMG models because they don’t get everything an AMG usually does, especially the engine. However, these days the AMG badge is not as strong and special as it once was, and it certainly does not mean a V8 engine.
The new C63 is a “63” AMG yet it offers a 4-cylinder engine. As such, the E 53 AMG is a true AMG as there is more to it than just the engine and a pair of exhausts on each side.
