In the last few years, Audi has made a huge effort to increase the gas mileage of their vehicles. They now have some of the best-performing vehicles in the industry on that front. So, which Audi gets the best gas mileage? Let’s find out!
We are going to stick to 2018, 2019, and 2020 models of Audi here. This is because these will be the models that you are most likely to encounter ‘new’. There may be some older vehicles that did offer a better gas mileage than these, but aging engines will have impacted this slightly, making it tough to say just how much MPG you would get from them now.
2018 Audi A3 e-Tron 4-Cylinder, 1.4L Engine
The 2018 Audi A3 was one of the first hybrid vehicles produced by Audi. It remains one of the most fuel-efficient of all Audi vehicles, outside of the pure electric vehicles in their range.
When the vehicle is running on electricity and gas, it is able to offer a fantastic 83MPG.
If the power has been drained, then the Audi A3 is more than capable of running purely on gas. Even then, it should offer a rather respectable 36MPG. However, do bear in mind that this vehicle is not as powerful as a few others listed here. This is why the MPG is a bit higher than many of the other Audi vehicles.
In recent years, the Audi A3 has become a pure electric car. The 2020 model can offer 77mpg but do bear in mind that it will no longer run on gas.
2020 Audi A4 4-Cylinder 2.0L
The Audi A4 has always been a staple on lists discussing the most fuel-efficient Audi vehicles. This is a tremendously well-designed vehicle, and the 2020 model is no exception to that rule.
With an estimated 35 mpg on the highway and 27mpg when city driving, the 2020 Audi A4 will offer a combined average of 30 mpg.
This is assuming that you purchase the automatic version of the vehicle. The manual version may have slightly different numbers, but they won’t be amazingly different from this. It will still likely hover around the combined 30mpg mark.
2018 Audi A4 Ultra, 4-Cylinder 2.0L Engine
The 2018 Audi A4 Ultra offers a little bit more mileage on the highway than the 2020 standard Audi A4 model. Here, it is capable of a huge 37MPG on the highway. However, for city driving, it goes as low as 24mpg, which gives us a combined 31mpg.
This means that the 2018 model is a little bit better than the 2020 model on the mileage front but do bear in mind that these engines are aging now. This means that the mileage will probably be on par between the two models.
2019 Audi A3 Cabriolet 4-Cylinder 2.0L
The Audi A3 is another model that you can always rely on to offer a stellar MPG.
The 2019 model offers 26mpg for city driving, and highway is around 35mpg. This gives us a combined number of 29MPG. It is a little less mileage than some of the other options here, but the highway MPG is fantastic, particularly since the 2019 Audi A3 is still regarded as a ‘newer’ model.
2020 Audi A8 L 6-Cylinder 3.0L
This is one of the Audi hybrid models for 2020.
This model gives you a combined figure of 54MPG when it is running on both electricity and premium gas.
Sadly, with 23MPG when running solely on gas, this is one of the least fuel efficient Audi models in 2020. So, if you do have one of these, you will always want to ensure that you have it charged, otherwise it is going to be blowing through gas like there is no tomorrow.
2020 Audi Q5 4-Cylinder 2.0L
This is the second hybrid model from Audi for 2020.
When running hybrid, it is able to offer 65mpg. When it is running purely on gas, it offers 27mpg. Still not brilliant, but it is superior to the Audi A8, despite offering similar amounts of power.
Remember; these figures are marketed numbers from Audi. Your mileage may vary. It all depends on the conditions that you drive in.
