All about 2023 Peugeot e-2008

2023 Peugeot e-2008

The Peugeot e-2008 is designed as a more jacked-up version of the entry-level subcompact e-208 hatchback. The 2023 e-2008 is going to feature a relatively large battery for such a small SUV which should be the same one you find in the current e-308. Peugeot also did this for the smallest e-208 which means that all entry-level Peugeot EVs should have the same technology.

If you are interested in buying the e-2008, we are going to tell you all about 2023 Peugeot e-2008, what to look out for, and what to expect. The e-2008 is set to be revealed in December of 2022 which means that we are really close to seeing what the 2023 e-2008 is going to look like in the flesh. The interior is not going to change all that much from the previous model which is not bad at all.

The driving experience is going to be slightly different compared to the gasoline model as this one is going to be heavier and quicker. Reliability shouldn’t be too big of an issue as electric Peugeots do seem to be fairly dependable which is expected since EVs are indeed more dependable than gasoline cars.

The price is expected to go up over the 2022 model, but no major changes are expected here. Practicality is good for its class, but nothing to brag about as this segment of cars is not really designed for transporting people all that often.

2023 Peugeot e-2008 – The Powertrain

The Peugeot e-2008 is going to be available with a slightly larger 51kWh battery that you can already find in the e-308 which means around 230-250 miles on a full charge at the very best. This is not exactly all that much these days as some EVs can go even double that, but for the segment in which the e-2008 resides, this is indeed a really good result.

You can charge the e-2008 using the standard 11kW charger which should replenish the battery in a few hours, more than enough time for those who charge their cars overnight. On the other hand, if you manage to find a 100kW charger, the e-2008 will replenish 80% of its battery in just 25 minutes.

The single motor over the front wheels offers 156hp which is enough for the e-2008 to reach 60mph in under 9 seconds. All in all, the powertrain could use some extra horsepower, but the e-2008 is designed to be a comfortable daily driver, not an EV boy racer.

2023 Peugeot e-2008 – Design and Driving

The past few years have seen Peugeot coming out with some really striking-looking cars which is certainly a good surprise as Peugeot was never a brand known for making good-looking cars. This is especially true on the inside where the e-2008 looks really futuristic and cool. The exterior is getting a few design touches to separate it from its gasoline counterpart which includes a new grille, some contrasting body parts, new wheels, and a few badges here and there.

The driving experience is likely going to be the same as in the 2022 model which means that the e-2008 should drive really comfortably and shouldn’t be all that dynamic. You are going to feel the added weight from the electric powertrain, but not too much for it to make a difference in everyday applications.

2023 Peugeot e-2008 – Reliability and Common Issues

The Peugeot e-2008 was part of a fairly major recall recently where Peugeot recalled all of their models due to problems with the battery which might also be the reason why the e-2008 and the e-208 are both getting some battery technology from the e-308. Besides these issues, people have complained about charging issues and some software issues which aren’t too big of a deal.

Besides these, the e-2008 is really dependable which is to be expected since electric cars do manage to be more reliable than their ICE counterparts due to fewer moving parts and fewer components that can go wrong.

 2023 Peugeot e-2008 – Value and Practicality

The Peugeot e-2008 costs £35,150 – £39,400 for the 2022 model while the 2023 model should be more or less the same. Practicality is also going to remain the same which means that two people are easily going to be comfortable in the e-2008 while multiple passengers can be a bit of a squeeze.

Overall, the e-2008 offers good visibility, it is really easy to get in and out of, and it comes with a wide variety of useful features such as USB ports, storage spaces, and cup holders for all passengers.
