2023 Peugeot 2008

The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover SUV that was first revealed back in 2013. It was intended to replace the 208SW, but it end up becoming more of a crossover than an estate. The 2nd generation of the 2008 was revealed in 2019 which means that Peugeot is not yet ready for a brand-new model of the 2008 yet rather just a facelift.

So, if you want to know all about 2023 Peugeot 2008, be sure to read this article! For starters, the 2023 2008 is going to offer more advanced powertrains which means no diesel engines anymore and that all 2008 models will be electrified in some way. This includes new electric models down the line, but all are going to feature an electric motor of some kind.

Design-wise, the 2008 is getting a few touch-ups here and there, a new exterior color, and darker contrasting panels across the car. New wheel designs are also going to be available including new LED taillights and a slightly revised front grille. The interior is also going to be slightly updated, but mostly on the software side of things.

Reliability is going to remain the same as far as non-engine components are concerned while the price is going to be a bit higher than for the 2022 model. Practicality stays unchanged which means that the 2008 is going to remain as practical as it ever was.

2023 Peugeot 2008 – The Powertrain

Peugeot came out a few months and go and said that all of their models starting with the year 2023 are going to be electrified in some way. This means that they are going to offer standard gasoline engines mated with mild-hybrid technology or fully hybridized models. The entry-level 1.2L PureTech is now getting mild hybrid assistance which should offer between 100hp and 130hp.

All diesel engines are going away, but Peugeot is going to offer two electric models called the Peugeot e-2008. The weaker model is going to feature a 50kWh battery and FWD due to a single electric motor setup while the more powerful model will feature a larger battery. We are not yet aware of the size, but some sources state that it should be around 75kWh and it should offer AWD.

You can expect the e-2008 to offer around 200-250 miles of range which is enough for a city commuter, but not all that much for a highway cruiser. All in all, Peugeot is adamant to make efficient models with fewer CO2 emissions. So, if that is something that interests you, you are likely going to enjoy the 2023 2008.

 2023 Peugeot 2008 – Design and Driving

As mentioned in the introduction, the new 2008 is not going to change all that much which means that it is going to feature a few new design touches such as contrasting black panels across the exterior, new wheels, new colors, and redesigned taillights. The front grille is also getting a slight makeover in order to make the 2008 facelift more distinctive.

The interior on the other hand is really futuristic, especially with the new “3D Cockpit” which should be quick to respond and offer better resolution. The driving experience isn’t set to change dramatically which means that it should be comfortable and relaxing to drive.

2023 Peugeot 2008 – Reliability and Common Issues

The 2023 Peugeot 2008 should be similar to the previous generation as far as reliability is concerned, but there are some issues worth talking about. For starters, the new 2008 is not going to have any issues with DPF filters as all diesel models are going away for good. However, the gearbox could pose a few problems, especially if not maintained properly.

The suspension is also known to experience issues while software glitches and Bluetooth problems will hopefully be resolved. The 2008 was recalled as much as 19 times since it came out which means that it is not the best-sorted car straight out of the factory.

2023 Peugeot 2008 – Value and Practicality

The 2022 Peugeot 2008 costs between £24,295 and £31,045 but the 2023 model is likely going to cost more than that. For this price, you are getting a really good small SUV that is both good to look at and good to drive. It does lose value fast and that is something the 2023 model isn’t likely to change all that much.

Practicality is good for the front seats while rear seats aren’t as roomy as some other cars from this segment. Visibility is really good while storage spaces are plenty and well-integrated. All in all, the 2023 2008 should be more or less identical.
